Sending you pictures of the Kambha with its biggest fan (hopefully!!).... I am so obsessed about this activity.... Was talking about home composting on NDTV too the other day, feel so grateful i get to talk about what i enjoy doing. Thanks so much for inspiring me.
"I just wanted to let you know that I got good results from the prithvi kambha. Minimum stirring/adding saw dust etc..yet I got good compost and lot of earthworms in the compost too! This design looks like a good solution for folks who have garden space for keeping the composter. Thank you!"
"Writing to you on behalf of the Civic Response Team, Aurangabad (Maharashtra) to thank you for your inspiring work on Solid Waste Management. We recently launched our first SWM project in a colony of over 250 households in Aurangabad - Sindhi Colony. Your beautifully designed materials and presentations have been tremendously useful in our awareness and training sessions. A few of the women have also been visiting your website. Today, Sindhi colony boasts 90% segregation at source!"

"I find it very convenient to compost at home. My maids know that they have to segregate. Once you get your first batch of compost and use it in your garden and notice the plants enjoying it, it is very satisfying. And you created something out of waste which is even more valuable and meaningful!"
"I was initially apprehensive about how tedious it would be to sort waste and then store it. I thought it would be messy and stinky and unhygienic. I was in for a pleasant surprise during the entire process. There is absolutely no unpleasant odour from the kambha, no mess and absolutely no hard work. All it needs is some tender love and care"

"We have lost the count of kgs we have harvested and shared in last years. Thank you Daily Dump for inventing the amazing and cheap option for apartment dwellers like us. It has been a proud association"
Daily Dump were professional (something that's a rarity these days) & enthusiastic-for that is an absolute requirement in this business. Our building staff and I were thrilled with the fun, interactive way they conducted the induction. Nobody spends time explaining things to them and it was an eye opener. After a few hiccups, our composting has been chugging along nicely. I do wish more people would take it on-its so easy.

Our 12 house apartment has been using the leave it pots and EM for composting our wet waste for the past 7 years..and it works.. it works like magic..i do not need to say more!
"Having thought of several options, we chose the Aaga composters from Daily Dump. Daily Dump conducted a training session for housekeeping staff, explaining waste segregation and how to use the composter. We are pleased with their efficiency, knowledge and thoroughness."
Nusa Dua, Whitefiled, Bangalore
"After 10 days of use, the housekeeping staff are totally comfortable now with collecting the wet waste from selected houses, and adding it into the composter (Aaga). The composter now contains over 150kg of wet waste, and no, there is no smell!"

"Our community wanted to manage our organic waste and when we installed our Manthans we found we had more leaves than we needed for composting wet waste. This is when we installed a leaf composter which even our traditional gardener finds easy to use!"
"The Sadashivnagar residents wanted to set an example and believed in trying out a pilot of these on their streets. They are now waiting for the government to notice and do more, since there are so many trees in this area!"
"Our factory has a green initiative and we were so happy with the first leaf composter that we got another one as soon as we got rich compost from the first one!"
"We have a big garden and were sending so much leaf litter out daily. These leaf composters fit into our community beautifully and do so much work. We are really happy to making our city cleaner!"
Binny Crescent Apartments, Bangalore
"Even with 10 (leaf) composting units there is still garden waste that leaves the community. Our next step is to work on individual owners to start composting at their residences so we can reach the ultimate goal of dealing with all garden waste in house. Thanks to Daily Dump for all the support!!"

I had come to your outlet the other day and told you about my visit to the Museum of Design, Copenhagen. Sorry for the delay in sending the picture. Now I wish I had taken a better one. But let me tell you that it made me so proud to see your name and your work along with all the other exhibits featuring extraordinary work by individuals to improve conditions in their countries. Congratulations and thank you for the work that you are doing.
Regarding ALF's composting experience, I guess you could say it has been slow, and touch wood no major set backs till date. If your remember we purchased two big pots and a bamboo leaves store from Daily dump. Since the time we started, we only managed to fill half or little more of one of the pots. I guess the vegetable waste is lesser than thought, and may be every day the pot does not get waste.
The only major issues was the big black ants for which borax poyder was not available in the vicinity so I resorted to sprinkling a fair amount of vinegar round the pot. And this seems to have done the trick. Nowadays may be due to the change of weather the ants do not come in in any case.
A while ago I saw the pot had lots of maggots in it and was very happy, as I remember reading that the presence of maggots is a good thing for composting. Nowadays though I dont see any maggots.
Non organic waste does get chucked in occasionally and it is removed when seen.
Can you please arrange to send another packet of accelerator as we have finished our stock. Thanks,
I just realized that it has been 3 years since we discovered the khamba from Dailydump! Next to seeing my daughter grow up, it has been the most satisfying things I have done in my life. While I grew up in a semi-urban setting where we don't throw waste outside, it was next to impossible to think that you could do that in an urban setting! So the feeling out of not throwing wet waste outside has been priceless one! So Thank you Poonam and Daily dump.
It has become a normal thing in our household and it has been going really smooth come rain or shine. We used the compost recently in our vegetable patch and the cauliflower sprouted up to life soon after and the surprising thing was the unseeded plants that came up - tomatoes and cucumbers came up just like that! We were in fact buying compost for the vegetables and using the home-made-compost only for the flowers. We weren't sure of the quality and content.
I am also at a stage where I am ready to retire from the IT job that I have been doing for more than 20 years though I am just 45! So I have invested in some farm land near my hometown and I am also seriously considering cloning dailydump in my hometown where the waste processing is a serious issue and a health hazard. In fact, people there wouldn't believe me when I say that we don't throw any wet waste outside from my flat. However I am trying to see if I can find a suitable partner in my hometown who would be interested in this venture. In fact, I have found some potterers around who can do the khambas and pots. So I need to meet you(do I say this every time I write to you) on this business sometime soon.
Once again Thank You for this wonderful experience!
I have started my composting yesterday and did some painting on the composter too. Thought to share with you. I'm already a member of the terrace garden group .... didn't know about the GKVK ... will check it soon! Thanks for your help!
We bought the Kambha last week and started using it after a bit of painting.
It is yet early to get the finished product, but the unit has got the attention of the neighbours.
We have been busy giving details! Attached is a photograph of the painted version.
Very disappointed in the entire experience of the on-line ordering and the way the service is being provided. It is even more frustrating when you are charging Rs 400 addition for the delivery.
Basic courtesy in service
1. Keep the customer updated of the order status - None for 10 days and then when I call, the person swears someone was supposed to have called
2. Today, I got 5 calls for the delivery - Are we supposed work at office or answer your stupid calls to ask for landmark
3. Me and my wife are working and no one would be at home during office hours. When I said the same thing again and again, the lady insists she will deliver tomorrow morning. Are you expecting us to take leave and wait for the delivery? Is it gold in crates being delivered?
4. I had asked the person to reach my residence after 7:00 PM today and the person is calling me the 3rd time at 6:10 PM. I am in a telepresence with my UK Stakeholders - Is this fair practice? When I said you deliver on Saturday, why can't you listen - especially after so many days of delay
Last time, I will order from Daily dump or promote any of your products!! Surely the most frustrating experience in a on-line order. If you don't change, you will loose more of your customers.
Thanks for your mail. I appreciate the time you took to give us your feedback to help us make our processes better.I am really sorry that your experience has been so bad and is there any way we can make it better at all?
I will work to make our processes better and I do hope your composting will not stop, even if you do not buy from us, let this not turn you away from this most important process. My sincere apologies again.
Last year, in the month of October my entire family was down with "viral" fever and were hospitalized. The agonizing time that I spent in the hospital forced me to slow down and look at the quality of our life in city. Once I was discharged from the hospital, I noticed that the neighbours around me were afflicted with similar "viral" fever with similar symptoms. This was around the time when there was continuous days of rain and the garbage pile were not cleared by pourakarmikas, probably due to continuous holidays. While my initial thought was weather change attributing to ailment, I was convinced that it was the garbage that was decomposting anaerobically that was spreading ill-health in the absence of sunlight.
There used to be a time when homes in our city used to be welcomed prominently by beautiful symmetrical rangoli. These days, we also notice a spot near our gates where the entire household garbage is aggregated :( and kept aside for the pourakarmikas to take away. If pourakarmikas dont take away that waste, you can imagine the stench in the air!
Unavailability of sunlight, continuous rain and pile of garbage probably created a suitable environment for diseases to spread through vectors.
Once I was back home from the hospital, I started to look at workable solutions to manage household waste. Dailydump seemed to be listed on all the search keywords that I looked at. After going through an "encyclopedia" of information on composting from your website, I met Santosh at your office. He reinforced my confidence on the composting system by asking few questions and suggesting the right composter that could do the job for us.
While I started segregating the kitchen waste for the composter, it was only after I adopted the 2bin1bag method that focus became even more stronger on recycling and reducing the rejects that go to landfill.
You have a staff that is extremely helpful. The booklet that you provided at the start of my composting journey was extremely useful. Very... very well composed to allay any fears along the journey.
I "harvested" my first batch of compost. The earthy smell of the compost is divine!
I am sharing a picture of my compost harvest... Composting is easy and fun... something that all city dwellers should start getting engaged in.
Before we follow any celebrity and take to the streets with a broom, we could simply ask ourselves this question - Did I segregate the waste at source & compost the kitchen waste today ! Our world will be a much... much cleaner & healthier place, if all of us had "Yes" for an answer :)
Thank you for all the research and priceless work that you have put into this subject, "compost-walli" !
